Faith to Angels

Faith in Angels is one of the foundations of Islam.
AllahTa `ala says :

                                  2:285

The Messenger has believed in what was revealed to him from his Lord, and [so have] the believers. All of them have believed in Allah and His angels and His books and His messengers, [saying], "We make no distinction between any of His messengers." And they say, "We hear and we obey. [We seek] Your forgiveness, our Lord, and to You is the [final] destination."(Surah al-Baqara: 285)

Allah when asked by Gabriel` Alaihis salam about faith, he replied: '( Faith is) thou faithful to Allah, His angels, His books, His apostles, the Last Day, and faithful to the fate of good and bad. "(muttafaq` alaih)Those who disbelieve the existence of angels, then he has kafir, out of Islam. Allah Ta `ala says :

                                 4:136

O you who have believed, believe in Allah and His Messenger and the Book that He sent down upon His Messenger and the Scripture which He sent down before. And whoever disbelieves in Allah , His angels, His books, His messengers, and the Last Day has certainly gone far astray.
(Surah An-Nisa136)

Minimal restrictions Faith in Angels

Shaykh Salih bin `Abdul` Aziz Alu hafidzahullah Shaikh said:
"The deadline is minimal (the faith of the angels) is a belief that God created beings called angels. They are servants of God who is always obedient to Him. They are arranged so that the creatures are not entitled diibadahi altogether. Among them are angels assigned to convey revelation to the Prophet. "(Sharh Arbain Shaykh Salih Sheikh Alu)

Grow Along with Increased Faith
StudiesAfter that, each time increasing one's knowledge about the details of these (angels), obligatory for him to faith. That way, it will increase his faith. Allah Ta `ala says which means:" And when it revealed a letter, then among them (hypocrites) there is a saying:

                                 9:124

And whenever a surah is revealed, there are among the hypocrites those who say, "Which of you has this increased faith?" As for those who believed, it has increased them in faith, while they are rejoicing.(Surah At-Tawbah: 124)

The nature of angels
Shaykh DR. Muhammad ibn `Abdul Wahhab al Aqiil said, "Arguments from al-Qur` an, as-Sunnah, and ijma `(agreement) of the Muslims (the angel) showed the following:
  • The angel is a creature among creatures of God's creation.
  • God created them to worship Him as God created jinn and man to worship Him alone.
  • They are a living, intelligent, and can talk.
  • Angels live in a different world with the jinn and human nature. They live in the glorious holy again, that  God chose the site because of its proximity to the world, and to carry out his orders, both orders that are kauniyyah, and shar `iyyah.
Allah Ta `ala says:.

21:26

And they say, "The Most Merciful has taken a son." Exalted is He! Rather, they are [but] honored servants.

21:27

They cannot precede Him in word, and they act by His command.

21:28

He knows what is [presently] before them and what will be after them, and they cannot intercede except on behalf of one whom He approves. And they, from fear of Him, are apprehensive.

21:29

And whoever of them should say, "Indeed, I am a god besides Him"- that one We would recompense with Hell. Thus do We recompense the wrongdoers.

'Behold, I am a god other than Allah', then the person we give a reply to hell, so we gave punish the unjust people. "(Surah al-Anbiyaa`: 26 - 29)

Originally Creation of Angels
Allah Ta `ala created the angels from light. It is as contained in the hadith of Umm al-Mu `minin` Aisha `anha radhiyallah, he said that the Prophet Sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam said:" Angels were created from light. "(Narrated by Muslim)

Number of Angels
There were so many. Only God knows how many there were.  Allah Ta `ala says

                                74:31

And We have not made the keepers of the Fire except angels. And We have not made their number except as a trial for those who disbelieve - that those who were given the Scripture will be convinced and those who have believed will increase in faith and those who were given the Scripture and the believers will not doubt and that those in whose hearts is hypocrisy and the disbelievers will say, "What does Allah intend by this as an example?" Thus does Allah leave astray whom He wills and guides whom He wills. And none knows the soldiers of your Lord except Him. And mention of the Fire is not but a reminder to humanity.(Surah al-Muddatstsir: 31)

When the Prophet Sallallaahu` alaihi wa sallam doing Isra Mi `raj`,the Prophet said Gabriel told him : "This is the Baitul Ma` mur. Every day of prayer in which 70 thousand angels. If they had come out, they will not come back again "(Agreed` alaihi)

Physical properties of Angels
The following are some of the physical properties of the angels:
The strength of their physical
Allah Ta `ala says about the state of hell,

                                 66:6

O you who have believed, protect yourselves and your families from a Fire whose fuel is people and stones, over which are [appointed] angels, harsh and severe; they do not disobey Allah in what He commands them but do what they are commanded.(Surah Tahrim: 6)
Heat from the fire of hell, which makes iron and melted rock, no harm them.Likewise also Malakul jibal (Angel Mountain), in which he offers to the Prophet Sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam to collide two mountains to a people who disobey him. Then he turned down the offer. (Hadith which tells the story contained in the Sahih Bukhari and Sahih Muslim)

Have wings
    Allah Ta `ala says

                                   35:1

[All] praise is [due] to Allah , Creator of the heavens and the earth, [who] made the angels messengers having wings, two or three or four. He increases in creation what He wills. Indeed, Allah is over all things competent.(Surah Fathiir: 1)

No need to eat and drink
Allah Ta `ala says

                                11:69

And certainly did Our messengers come to Abraham with good tidings; they said, "Peace." He said, "Peace," and did not delay in bringing [them] a roasted calf.
                                11:70

But when he saw their hands not reaching for it, he distrusted them and felt from them apprehension. They said, "Fear not. We have been sent to the people of Lot."(Surah Huud: 69 - 70)

As Suyuti rahimahullah said:" Ar-Razi in his commentary says that the scholars agree that the angels are not eating, not drinking, and did not get married. "

The ma `shum-an angel
Allah Ta `ala has make angels as being ma` shum, where they would never engage in immoral to him. Allah Ta `ala says
" And they say: 'Merciful has taken (to have) children,' Glory to God "(Surah. Al-Anbiyaa`: 26-29)
That is a glimpse of the faith to the angel, may be useful.
