Islam Rahmatan Lil Alamin

True that Islam is a religion that rahmatan lil 'alamin. But many people distort this statement to the understandings are mistaken. Giving rise to many mistakes in the practice of religion even in a very fundamental, namely the matter of belief.
The statement that Islam is a religion that rahmatan lil 'alamin is actually the conclusion of the word of God Almighty,

                                                          21:107
And We have not sent you, [O Muhammad], except as a mercy to the worlds.(Surah Al Anbiya: 107)

Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam was sent to bring the teachings of Islam, then Islam is rahmatan lil'alamin, Islam is a mercy to all mankind.
In language,

الرَّحْمة: الرِّقَّةُ والتَّعَطُّفُ

Mercy means softness combined with compassion (See Lisaanul Arab, Ibn Mandzur). Or in other words can be interpreted by the grace of love. So, the coming of the Prophet Muhammad Sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam is a form of love of God to all mankind.

The interpretation of Experts :
1.Ibn Qayyim Al Jauziyyah in Tafsir Ibn al-Qayyim:
"The opinion is more correct in interpreting this verse is that grace here is general. In this issue, there are two interpretations:

First: The universe in general benefit to the coming of the Prophet Muhammad Sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam.
People who follow him, can achieve glory in the world and the hereafter as well.
Fight the unbelievers who he is, the benefits they get are immediately murder and death for them, it's better for them. Because their lives will only increase the pain Allaah in the Hereafter. Destruction has been set for them. Thus, the accelerated death benefit them more than a sedentary life in disbelief.
Kafirs are bound by his agreement, the benefit for them is left alive in the world in the protection and agreements. They are much less notoriety than the unbelievers who are fighting the Prophet Sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam.
Hypocrites, who appeared in Zahir faith alone, they benefit the preservation of blood, treasure, and honor their families. They are treated as other Muslims in inheritance laws and other laws.
And the human race after he was sent, God Almighty Allaah does not provide an overall view of mankind on earth. In conclusion, all humans have benefited from the coming of the Prophet Sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam.

Secondly: Islam is a mercy for every human being, but the faithful to receive this grace and benefit of the world and the Hereafter. As for the unbelievers refuse. So for the unbelievers, Islam remains said to be a mercy to them, but they are reluctant to accept. As if to say 'This is the medicine for a sick so and so'. Suppose that so and so did not drink, the drug is still said to be the drug "

2. Muhammad bin Ali Ash Syaukani in Fathul Qadir:
"The meaning of this verse is 'Not We sent thee, O Muhammad, to bring Sharia law, but as a mercy to all people without any special circumstances or reasons for the exemption'. In other words, 'the only reason we sent you, O Muhammad, is a vast mercy. Because we
sent you to bring something that was the cause of happiness in the hereafter '"

3. Muhammad ibn Jarir Tabari Tafsir Tabari in:
"The commentators disagree about the meaning of this verse, about whether all people are referred to in this paragraph are all believers and unbelievers good man? Or is it just human believers? Most of the commentators argue, the question is whether all people believers and unbelievers. Those with a history of underlying Ibn Abbas radhiallahu'anhu in interpreting this verse:

من آمن بالله واليوم الآخر كتب له الرحمة في الدنيا والآخرة, ومن لم يؤمن بالله ورسوله عوفي مما أصاب الأمم من الخسف والقذف

"Anyone who believes in Allah and the Last Day, set for her grace in the world and the hereafter. But anyone who does not believe in Allah and His Messenger, the form of grace for them is not overwritten by the calamities that befall older people, as they all drowned or exposed big wave "

in another narration:

تمت الرحمة لمن آمن به في الدنيا والآخرة, ومن لم يؤمن به عوفي مما أصاب الأمم قبل

"Grace is perfect in this world and the hereafter for those who believe in Allah. As for those who are reluctant to believe, a form of grace for them is not overwritten by accident that befell the people of the previous "

Opinion of other commentators say that the question is of believers only. They brought the history of Ibn Zaid in interpreting this verse:

فهو لهؤلاء فتنة ولهؤلاء رحمة, وقد جاء الأمر مجملا رحمة للعالمين. والعالمون هاهنا: من آمن به وصدقه وأطاعه

"With the coming of the Messenger of Allah, there is a man who got the disaster, some have mercy, although the form of mentions in this verse is general in nature, ie as a mercy to all mankind. All people in question here are those who believe in Allah, and obey it justifies "
The true opinion of these two opinions are those of the first, as the history of Ibn Abbas. That God sent the Prophet Muhammad Sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam as a mercy for all people, both believers and unbelievers. Mercy for the believers that God gave him directions for the coming of the Prophet Sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam. He Sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam incorporate believers into heaven by faith and deeds are against the teachings of Allah. While mercy to the heathen, not a disaster that befell immediately peoples who deny the teachings of God's past "(translated summary).

4. Muhammad bin Ahmad Al Qurtubi in the Tafsir Al Qurtubi
"Said bin Jubair said: from Ibn Abbas, he said:

كان محمد صلى الله عليه وسلم رحمة لجميع الناس فمن آمن به وصدق به سعد, ومن لم يؤمن به سلم مما لحق الأمم من الخسف والغرق

"Muhammad Sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam is a mercy to all mankind. For those who believe and justify his teachings, will have happiness. For those who do not believe him, rescued from the disaster that befell the people of the previous form of sunk into the earth or submerged in water "

Ibn Zaid said:

أراد بالعالمين المؤمنين خاص

"The term 'whole man' in this paragraph are only those who believe! '"

5. Ash Shabuni in Shafwatut Tafasir

"The purpose of this paragraph is 'Not We sent thee, O Muhammad, but as a mercy for all creatures'. As in a hadith:

إنما أنا رحمة مهداة

"I am a gift of grace (by God)" (Narrated by al-Bukhari in Al ' Ilal Al Kabir 369, Al Bayhaqi in Syu'abul Faith 2/596. This hadeeth in his Saheeh Al-Albani in Genealogy Saheehah Ash, 490, also in Saheeh Al-Jami ', 2345)

People who receive these blessings and be thankful for this favor, he will find happiness in the world and the hereafter.
Allah Ta'ala did not say 'rahmatan lilmu'minin', but said 'rahmatan lil' alamin 'because Allah Almighty wants to give mercy to all creatures with the coming of the leader of the Prophets, Muhammad sallallaahu' alaihi wa sallam. He was sent to bring great happiness. He also saves people from the great tribulation. He was the cause of achieving a variety of good in the world and the hereafter. He gives insight to the man who previously was in ignorance. He gives guidance to the human family which had been in error. This is what the grace of God to all mankind. Even unbelievers have benefited from this grace, which is delayed punishment for them. In addition, they also no longer be overwritten punishment turned into an animal, or sunk into the earth, or sunk in the water "

A wrong understanding

Problems arise when people interpret this verse at random, language understanding and logic of capital is shallow. Or try to impose meaning of the verse to suit his desires.

Understanding of which are:
1. Compassionate with the heathen
Some people ask to be filial to the heathen, not to hate them, following their events, are reluctant to call them infidels, or even call that all religions are equal and true, to postulate the verse:

                                                      21:107

And We have not sent you, [O Muhammad], except as a mercy to the worlds.(Surah al-Anbiya: 107)

Though this is not the interpretation of this verse. Allah the Exalted make Islam as a mercy to all mankind, but the shape is not a mercy to the heathen with filial to them. Even been described by commentators, that the form of grace for them is not overwritten by accident that befell the people of the past. This form of love of God towards the heathen, from the explanation of Ibn Abbas Radhiallahu'anhu friend.
Even the consequences of belief in Allah and His Messenger are hated all forms of worship to other than Allah, hates the forms of opposition to the teachings of the Prophet Sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam, and hate those who do. As Allah Ta'ala:

                              58:22

You will not find a people who believe in Allah and the Last Day having affection for those who oppose Allah and His Messenger, even if they were their fathers or their sons or their brothers or their kindred. Those - He has decreed within their hearts faith and supported them with spirit from Him. And We will admit them to gardens beneath which rivers flow, wherein they abide eternally. Allah is pleased with them, and they are pleased with Him - those are the party of Allah . Unquestionably, the party of Allah - they are the successful(Surah Al-Mujadalah: 22)

Note however, must hate not mean to kill, injure, or harm that you meet the unbelievers. As explained by Ibn al-Qayyim in his interpretation of the above, that there are infidels who must be fought, others should not be harmed.

Making the verse 107 of Surah al-Anbiya religious pluralism as well as giving a distorted understanding. Because of the verses of the Quran may not contradict each other. Is not God Almighty himself who said:

                                       3:19
Indeed, the religion in the sight of Allah is Islam. And those who were given the Scripture did not differ except after knowledge had come to them - out of jealous animosity between themselves. And whoever disbelieves in the verses of Allah , then indeed, Allah is swift in [taking] account. (Surah Al 'Imran: 19)
Also the word of Allah, the Exalted:

                                  3:85

And whoever desires other than Islam as religion - never will it be accepted from him, and he, in the Hereafter, will be among the losers. (Surah Al 'Imran: 85)

The man who brought the issue of pluralism may interpret 'Islam' in these verses to 'surrender'. So long as all religions are true surrender to God, they said. Suffice it to charge them with nonsense words of the Prophet Sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam:

الإسلام أن تشهد أن لا إله إلا الله وأن محمدا رسول الله وتقيم الصلاة وتؤتي الزكاة وتصوم رمضان وتحج البيت إن استطعت إليه سبيلا

"Islam that you testify that in fact no god has the right to be worshiped but Allah and that Muhammad is the messenger of God, you establish the prayer, issuing charity, fasting during Ramadan and the Hajj to the House to do if you are able to do so" (Narrated by Muslim no.8 )

Precisely verse 107 of Surah al-Anbiya is crushing rebuttal of religious pluralism. Because this verse is the proposition that all men on earth shall be converted to Islam. Because of Islam's 'lil alamin', for the entire human race on earth. Imam Ibn al-Qayyim, as described above: "Islam is a mercy for every human being, but the faithful to receive this grace and benefit of the world and the Hereafter. While rejecting the unbelievers ".

2. Compassionate in unjustly

Most of the Muslims to let the people leave the prayer, let the rampant prostitution, allowing women to open their private parts in public even allow practices idolatry and reluctant to advise them for fear that the perpetrators of immoral offense if advised him, then said: "Islam khan Rahmatan lil 'alamin, full of love ". It is strange.

Though this is not the interpretation of verse 107 of Surah al-Anbiya this. Islam as the grace of God is not merciful to the perpetrator significantly unjustly and let them in unjustly. AS described Tabari in his commentary on the above, "Mercy for the believers that God gave instructions for the coming of the Prophet Sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam. He Sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam incorporate believers into heaven by faith and deeds are against the teachings of Allah ".

Then the form of God's mercy towards the believers are to give them instructions to carry out God's commandments and away from what is forbidden by God, so that they reach jannah. In other words, if we also feel the love and affection to our brothers who do immoral, we should advise him and he did deny immoral and pointed it to do good deeds.
And attitudes necessary to deny any grace immoral. Should put the immoral denial of tenderness and affection, rather than put the rough and tough attitude. Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam said:

إن الرفق لا يكون في شيء إلا زانه. ولا ينزع من شيء إلا شانه

"It's not that there is gentleness in anything, except going to decorate it. It is not the tenderness is gone from something, but will it worse "(Narrated by Muslim, no. In 2594)

3. Compassionate in religious aberrations

This fact is stated that use this verse to legalize various forms of heresy, polytheism and superstition. Because they assume the forms of such deviations are differences of opinion should be tolerated so that they also say: "Let us with our understanding, do not harass us, is not Islam rahmatan lil'alamin". It is strange.

Interpret grace in verse 107 of Surah al-Anbiya with compassion and tolerance towards all the existing understanding on the Muslims, is very much interpretation. No commentators who interpreted that way.

The split into a variety of community groups is a fact, and was warned long ago by the Prophet Muhammad Sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam. And those who say it's true of all sizes and all can be tolerated no different from people who say all religions are equal. Among the various classes of the course there are right and wrong. And we are obliged to follow the right, which is in accordance with the teachings of the Prophet Sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam. Even Ibn al-Qayyim says about grace in verse 107 of Surah al-Anbiya: "People who follow him, can achieve glory in the world and the hereafter as well". That is, Islam is a form of love of God to those who follow the correct group is willing to follow the teachings of the Prophet Sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam.
The expression 'let us with our understanding, we do not disturb' applies only to the heathen. As stated in the letter Al Kaafirun:

قل يا أيها الكافرون لا أعبد ما تعبدون ولا أنتم عابدون ما أعبد ولا أنا عابد ما عبدتم ولا أنتم عابدون ما أعبد لكم دينكم ولي دين

"Say: 'O unbelievers, I will not worship what you worship. And ye are not worshipers of God that I worship. And I was never a worship what you worship. and you do not have (also) be a worshiper of God that I worship. For you your religion, and for me, my religion '"

While the fellow Muslims, not to be so. Even when obliged to advise his brother fall into the error. Which was duly advised the field to receive advice. Are not believers that edify each other in goodness?

والعصر إن الإنسان لفي خسرإلا الذين آمنوا وعملوا الصالحات وتواصوا بالحق وتواصوا بالصبر

"For the future. Behold, the man really in loss, Except those who believe and do good deeds and obeying the truth so that counsel's advice and counsel to advise the honor of patience "(Surah al-'Asr: 1-3)

And advise those who do deviate in religion is a form of affection to the person. Even people who knew his brother fell into the irregularities of religion but silence, he got a sin. As the Prophet Sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam:

إذا عملت الخطيئة في الأرض كان من شهدها فكرهها كمن غاب عنها. ومن غاب عنها فرضيها, كان كمن شهدها

"If you know of an error (in religion) happens on the earth, people who see the direct and deny it, he is the same as people who do not see directly (not sin). People who do not see directly, but the pleasure of the error, he is just like people who look straight (get sin) "(Narrated by Abu Daud no.4345, inhassan Al-Albani in Saheeh Sunan Abi Daud)

Disagreement can not be beaten even average that all opinions be tolerated. Do we tolerate some Sufis who argue that the five daily prayers are not compulsory for people who reach a certain level? Or some people who think prayer javanism important 'remember Allah' without having to pray? Do we tolerate Ahmadiyya opinion that says that the pilgrimage to Mecca should not? It can not be tolerated. If all people's opinions can be tolerated, Destroyed religion. But those opinions are based on authentic theorem, which postulates the way right, using the rule of the clergy, only then can we tolerate.

4. Underestimate the problems aqidah

By using this verse, some people are reluctant to preach and underestimate the true aqeedah. Because they consider only preach aqidah would divide the ummah and resentment that is not in accordance with the principle that Islam is rahmatan lil 'alamin.
Meditate on the words of Ash Shabuni in interpreting rahmatan lil 'alamin: "He Sallallaahu' alaihi wa sallam gave enlightenment to people who previously were in ignorance. He gives guidance to the human family which had been in error. This is what the grace of God for all mankind ". Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam be a mercy to all mankind because he brings the teachings of monotheism. Since humans in the period before he was sent was in error in the form of worship of gods other than Allah, though their worship to God as well. And this is the core teaching of the Apostles. As Allah Ta'ala:

                                     16:36
And We certainly sent into every nation a messenger, [saying], "Worship Allah and avoid Taghut." And among them were those whom Allah guided, and among them were those upon whom error was [deservedly] decreed. So proceed through the earth and observe how was the end of the deniers. (Surah an-Nahl: 36)

In addition, this is not the matter of belief that could determine the fate of a person whether he will be eternal in hell or not? Allah Ta'ala says:

                                 5:72
They have certainly disbelieved who say, " Allah is the Messiah, the son of Mary" while the Messiah has said, "O Children of Israel, worship Allah , my Lord and your Lord." Indeed, he who associates others with Allah - Allah has forbidden him Paradise, and his refuge is the Fire. And there are not for the wrongdoers any helpers (Surah Al Maidah: 72)

Therefore, there is a greater urgency of this problem?
In conclusion, it is preaching monotheism, calls to the correct aqidah is a form of mercy from Allah Ta'ala. Because preaching monotheism brought by Prophet Muhammad Sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam is the grace of God, then how could the cause of the split ummah? It is precisely because the real syirik split the ummah. As Allah Ta'ala:

                                       30:31
[Adhere to it], turning in repentance to Him, and fear Him and establish prayer and do not be of those who associate others with Allah

                                     30:32

[Or] of those who have divided their religion and become sects, every faction rejoicing in what it has.

"Do not include the people to Allah, those who divide their religion and they became some of the classes. Each group was pleased with what is in their class "(Surah ar-Rum: 31-32)
